The Alamo Bowie

Gil has always loved the Bowie knife. He was inspired to make knives because he wanted a Bowie after seeing the 1952 film "The Iron Mistress". He made his first Bowie in 1954, three years before he became a full time knifemaker.

This is Gil's "Alamo Bowie". One of these knives is on display in the Alamo in San Antonio Texas.

It features a massive blade of mirror polished 440C stainless steel, brass guard, brass blade catcher, and a Macassar Ebony handle. The guard is stamped with the lone star of Texas on each end.

This huge knife is 19 3/4 inches in overall length including it's 13 3/4 inch long by 1/4 inch thick blade.

It comes complete with a beautiful handcrafted leather sheath topped with a star medallion.

This knife is custom made per order by Gil Hibben. The Price as shown is $1550.00 and can usually be delivered in 3-4 weeks.
